Health Savings Account (HSA)

Health savings accounts were established in 2003 and are still considered relatively new financial instruments. HSA’s are similar to an IRA in that funds that are deposited into a health savings account are completely tax-deductible. In addition, these funds earn tax-free interest while in the HSA. However, the contributed funds can only be used to pay for qualified healthcare expenses.
